The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association announces that it will be awarding 105 college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2012-2013 academic year. The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books and fees only, and will be allocated at the time the student becomes enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois, before funds will be authorized.
DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott, on behalf of the Sheriff’s Association will be awarding one $500.00 scholarship to a DeKalb County student, the winner will be selected by a Scholarship Committee made up of citizens and education professionals. There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are as follows:
- Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents, and a permanent resident of DeKalb County.
- Scholarships must be utilized at institutes of higher learning within the State of Illinois.
- Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2012-2013 school year (excluding summer session).
Students must complete the application, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office by March 15th 2012
